There wouldn’t be any baby showers without a guest of honor so, I figured, what better topic to focus on than starting with the Mommy-to-be! Who doesn’t just love a party with delicious treats, fabulous décor and gifts galore? Well, for most expectant mothers who may not be feeling quite their best, being the center of attention might be a bit overwhelming.
Here are some tips to not only feeling your best but appreciating every part of your baby shower.

Pamper Yourself
If you have time, make an appointment to get a manicure, your hair blown out or maybe even a pre-natal massage the day before or morning of your baby shower. Not only will this give you an opportunity to relax but, you’ll feel and look confident, refreshed and amazing afterwards!

Designate a Helper
So the time has come to conquer the mountain of gifts your guests have brought for you. Wait! Before you get started, be sure to delegate either a friend or family member to help pass along, unwrap and write down whom each gift is from. You’re the guest of honor, stay seated and let the gifts come to you! Some gifts will be heavy, difficult to hold in your lap and will most definitely require some extra help. This might seem like a no-brainer but with all the excitement and attention, this important assistance could get overlooked and unless you have the memory of an elephant, sending those thank you notes will take much longer than they should!

Take Advice
Chances are, there will be a few seasoned moms, new moms and even grandmothers in attendance who are eager to give you advice as you welcome your bundle of joy. Although everyone has you in their best interest, listening to all of the words of wisdom could get overwhelming. Don’t panic. Each and every mother has a unique experience with their newborn and some things that may have worked for them might not necessarily work for you and your baby. Be considerate and listen gracefully but don’t feel like you need to start taking notes. Life with a baby is an adjustment but you have a lifetime to find new and wonderful ways to be the best mom you can be!
