Onesie decorating has become a popular trend which we have incorporated into almost all of our client’s baby showers. This activity is a fun and approachable way to engage guests of all ages to participate in creating a personal, custom keepsake for the mom-to-be and her new baby. Throughout our professional experience integrating onesie decorating into our events, we have created our own comprehensive decorating kit including all of the premium quality materials and supplies needed to set up this activity station. Officially introducing ‘Le Petit’ Onesie Decorating Kit along with some helpful tips for a successful onesie decorating experience!
Onesie Decorating Station Tips
Tip 1: Prep Table
When setting up this activity, be sure to use a table large enough to accommodate space for all of the supplies and materials, including space for decorating. We recommend at least a 6ft long rectangular table or a dining room table for at-home setup. Use an old tablecloth or protective covering to prevent any paint or ink from touching the surface. We recommend kraft paper as an inexpensive option that is durable, disposable and looks great!
Tip 2: Organize Supplies
Arrange the paint, markers, stencils and other supplies in glass jars or containers to keep everything organized and tidy on the table.
Tip 3: Create Signage
Draw attention to the activity by displaying our 8×10 Onesie Decorating Station sign in a frame for a polished look. Most craft supply stores carry a wide variety of different, size and color frames.
If you’re going for a more custom, personalized visual, create your own sign to tie in the theme and color scheme of the event!
Tip 4: Personalize It
Our kit includes paper tags and string for guests to write their name and tie onto their decorated onesie, letting mom-to-be know who created each design. Make sure to leave a pen or marker handy at the station.
Tip 5: Dry & Display
The decorated onesies will need a little time for the fabric paint to dry so we provide the hanger inserts, clothespins and twine for drying materials.
Find some space near the station to tie or tack the twine to a wall, mantle or window.
Hang a couple of blank onesies on the line with clothespins so guests understand that it should be used to dry and display their finished product. All of the hanging designs creates an adorable decor element to the baby shower as well!
